where i live, only 2 groups of people ride mopeds:

  • kids <16 years old
  • men who got a d.w.i.

in miami, and other warm places, a lot of people ride mopeds. but i don't know why they choose mopeds, instead of motorcycles. motorcycle mpg is >50. maybe moped mpg is even higher.

Moped mpg is insane, if this site (popularmechanics.com) is to be believed. Even on the lower end they get 65-70, and some claim 100+ mpg.

thanks for the info.

if lived in a warm area, i would consider a moped, because of the mpg. but it would be good to have a car for rain, highways, etc.

Yeah, that's one of the biggest downsides for mopeds and motorcycles, along with greatly reduced cargo space.
