Moped mpg is insane, if this site(popularmechanics.com) is to be believed. Even on the lower end they get 65-70, and some claim 100+ mpg.

if lived in a warm area, i would consider a moped, because of the mpg. but it would be good to have a car for rain, highways, etc.

Yeah, that's one of the biggest downsides for mopeds and motorcycles, along with greatly reduced cargo space.
