It's counter-productive to edit (vector tracing) a large jpg image and save it as png to share it online. You'd end up with a huge file like this post.
Not counter productive at all. It's pointless to upscale an image then save it to a lossy format. I would never spend time retracing an image only to save the output with 20% or greater loss of quality. The jpg artifacts are apparent in your jpg 80% conversion. I work with digital images a lot. Granted this was upscaled by AI and not hand traced. Also for sharing to people that don't know the difference between high res and high quality high res I can see how your argument stands. I would never waste my time hand tracing an image to share with Poal as there would be little to no appreciation for the amount of work that goes into it. Sorry for png. I will degrade or further compress my images from now on.
