It's not crippling and works perfectly fine.

You must be using some browser's extensions that are messing with it.

It's definitely not a browser extension as this issue spans multiple devices, (and operating systems) and I'm currently using a vanilla roll of chrome with absolutely no plugins. Just letting you know, because I know for a fact that I'm not the only one here who has complained about it. a feature where we have the option to click on a non-archve site would be really nice. but, whatevs.
