It's psychological trick based upon the logical fallacy called the false dilemma. They set the field and define the permitted topics and how you're allowed to think about each with their talking heads and various articles of coverage. They need not necessarily be adjacent topics until they decide they are. Then they discuss them and you bring together the dilemma they engineered from the bottom up using the concepts of the topics they've taught you.

Mind control is real. This is the entire reason Political Correctness exists. It's why all forms of PC must be resisted. It's important you think for yourself and not only as permitted and prescribed by others.

Here, the false dilemma they've provided is one or the other is legitimate. Which facilitates the point of view that Israel is legitimate. Which opens the door for more propaganda and the abridged history and how it came to be. All engineered to create the illusion of Israel's legitimacy and their eternal victim status.
