There are two plans of reality in the talmud; one when jews are subject to power (monarchy or whatever) under somebody else's rule, and one when it's the contrary, when they rule above all. And with those two "plans of reality", comes two distinct strategies/sets of rules; for the former, it's all about "helping others", being nice, championing minorities' cause to better serve theirs, etc.. What they did over the past decades. And for the latter, it's no more mister nice guy, it's full blown authoritarianism/totalitarianism, no more iron fist in the velvet glove, it's just the iron fist and go fuck yourself you don't even have the right to breath if you aren't part of the tribe, and the "good" part of course...
And, I believe it's ingrained in their culture, their overall mindset, mentality, way of thinking. It's not just a religious thing while the root is religious

It's about usurpation of humans through victim-hood. 6 million Jews are killed every few years. 13 million Jews on the planet; they are like cockroaches; I'm not antisemitic, Semitic is a language and I don't speak any of the 3 Semitic languages.
