...I was in the Marine Corps from 1995 until 2003. Infantry. I participated in the "War on Terrorism" when it started in 2003. My battalion took and secured the initial combat entry into Iraq for 6 months. Afterward, in mid June we left eastern Africa and proceeded home. On the way home the UN called and said they needed help in Liberia. It was the second time they had a civil war.....America bought and paid for all of the infrastructure over many decades. We had been gone for about two years......the power lines where all down, the train rails had been pulled and used for beams to make huts. The sewage system was so backed up, I'm sure I was looking at two year old petrified shit. The smell is still burned in my nasal cavities......and the entire city looked like a mad max movie. ...it took us 1 month and 4 days to take our objective in Iraq. (we fought trained solders)...and to be clear, I understand that we shouldn't have been there and we where lied too...zero weapons of mass destruction where found. ...it took us 4 days to take the same size city in Liberia.
