When I started losing weight, using calorie restricted diet with no sugar and in deficit, the first 5-7 days I had searing, sharp pains in my gut, my jaw hurt, my tongue hurt, and I would be constantly trying to go to the fridge, but didn't. Couldn't sleep, think, or do anything. I just curled up and watched videos or shows, or went for walks. By about day 10 all that was gone.

Not quite as torturous as quitting heroin or smoking I wouldn’t think, but there’s definitely a nasty unpleasant physical withdrawal period as well as a mental one you’ll see below. I remember there was some pretty fast weight loss that first two weeks then leveled off. The cravings not so much, I understand it is a matter of keeping a balance between the candida in your gut, which the sugar feeds and sends to your brain the craving for more sweets and your gut flora. All the pot bellies (sometimes called skinny fat men) we see today are caused by a gut full of candida where there’s way more candida than good gut flora. The idea being to have a higher level of good gut flora over candida levels. The more candida one has the longer the struggle to lose weight and fight off cravings is going to be. Once the higher level of good gut flora is achieved it is then the one that rules the roost in sending signals to the brain for food cravings and not the sugar craving candida’s. Hence the cravings for sugars will greatly subside. Foods that turn into sugar can fuk up the balance too so that must be kept in mind though not as detrimental to your weight loss goal as is straight up sugar. You do want to keep those foods in check so the candida levels don’t start building above the good gut flora levels or you’re back to the pot belly beer drink’n, potato and bread gulp’n physique you’ll soon see in your mirror right damn quick.

At least this is how it was all explained to me so take that for what it’s worth. Having been of the skinny fat man variety a time or two throughout life dropping the sugar and sugar making foods did bring things back in line.

I checked recently and I'm at 20% body fat, and dropping. Before my recent 12 lb weight gain, I was at 14%.

It’s a never ending battle these days. I don’t know how many times I’ve walked out of the grocery store without buy’n something because I couldn’t find a damn thing that wasn’t a sugary chemical shit storm.

Lol, now you got me wondering what my body fat level is. I’ll have to report back on that.
