Asked on one occasion “do you believe in God?” he responded with “I could talk for forty hours on what each word of that question means”. Which surely begged the follow-up “maybe you could but would you just answer the question?”
The problem with this writer's statement is that when you know the person asking the question "Do you believe in God?" has a completely different concept of God than you have, it becomes impossible to answer the question. First, you must agree on what "God" is. Or at the very least, you must get the other person to explain his concept of God, so that you can either agree or disagree with it.
. First, you must agree on what "God" is.
Not at all.
It's binary question.
Do you believe in God?
Yes or No
If the answer is Yes, which one. Then we can start talking for forty hours if you want to.
His “I could talk for forty hours on what each word of that question means” is bullshit. Nobody asked him to do that.
I'd rather talk with an AI, at least I'd know it doesn't try to bullshit me to avoid saying its a gatekeeping shabbos goy.
