Mustaine fired Ellefson from the band and had all of his bass tracks that were recorded for The Sick, The Dying, and The Dead re-recorded because Ellefson was allegedly involved in some sex scandal thing where all the details aren't known. They say he groomed an underage girl but even the girl involved said she was always consenting and always an adult throughout the interactions.
