Now, there's also another dimension when it comes to it; if "russia" admits the reality, that they got hijacked by jews essentially, they factually tell that hitler was right... You can see how this is problematic from a russian POV... So a conscious or unconscious form of denial is to be expected in that context, IMO... Personally, since all the so called death camps have been liberated by the USSR, I think it's reasonable to suspect that they went with the holocaust narrative to pin down germany for good, politically speaking.
