People like to debate this. AFAIK, they are converts. Others will tell you a different story. Regardless, the origin of the Khazarian Jews originates from the fact that the Caucasians came out of the Caucus Mountains largely first into Turkey. But here's the thing. The first Caucasians out of the Caucus Mountains were not necessarily Judahites. They were simply Hebrew/Israelites. Some of which may or may not have been Judahites. Heck, the tribes may not have even existed at this point.
Here we can see the original Turks were in fact very white and look nothing like what the modern day Turkish people look like.

As far as I'm concerned, the Ashkenazi (Khazarian) Jews are converts. Hopefully someone else will put forward the other competing theory as to their origin.
The more I think about jews being Neanderthal it makes sense but Genetic tests show Asians generally have the highest amount of Neanderthal and Denisovan DNA. European people have Neanderthal DNA as well but Europeans having Cro Magnon DNA feels right as well. It seems the more you find out the more questions you have. Very interesting and they are saying there is no relation to Ashkenazi and Khazarian but the Ashkenazi is European jew and they could tell via Genetic testing and certain alleles that other Europeans don't have. I have no problem seeing how the Ancient Turks looked much different way back when than they look now much like the modern Egyptians share less affinity with the Ancient Egyptians than the Europeans do now.
