Wasn't the label Jews created to refer to the Judeans?
No. Jew is no older than roughly 1000 years old. For completely unexplained reasons they are the only biblical group which required a rename. Standard explanation is that Judean or Judahite is too long and complex and therefore it makes sense to call them Jews. In reality, Jew is a proper name which is distinct from that of the Judean/Judahite (Tribe of Judah).
The KJV wasn't updated until sometime after the 1611 translation update. Sometime after this "Jew" was inserted into the bible. Here the conflation and confusion officially began. IMOHO, this is a strong indicator Jews had cemented their control of the Catholic Church. The Inquisitions are themselves an attempt to locate subversives and (((Jews/Masons/Jesuits))) who had infiltrated the ranks of the Church.
Thanks for the explanation, it helps clear some things up.

To refer to judeans with a specific ethno-religious background, otherwise they would just have called them judeans, as in mere inhabitants of judea, and that's not what they decided to do, for a reason...
No.
