And his mother was?

Jesus' mother was Mary. Why are you asking me this? Is it that you trust Poal more than Wikipedia? Yes Wikipedia can be edited by anyone, and people do edit "controversial" topics. But it's very much agreed upon that Jesus' mother was Mary.

Joseph was Jesus' step-dad, and he was a Jew. A direct descendant of King David. Mary was pregnant before she met Joseph. Mary was Jesus' mother and she was from Galilee. Galilee was populated mainly by Greeks and Assyrians in biblical times. But the entire area was an important part of the Roman Empire because it was where the Silk Road met the Mediterranean. So there were colonist from all over with different ethnicities and races living there. Because of that, Mary's race/ethnicity is likely Greek or Assyrian but it can not be confirmed. But we do know that she was not the same race/ethnicity as Joseph because they went to Judea so that Joseph (a direct descendant of David) could be counted in the census. Mary meanwhile was never said to be of the house lineage of David.

What was the religion of his mother?

What was the religion of his mother?

Jesus "Christ" practiced "Christ"ianity. It seemed that Mary supported Jesus, being a part of a few stories in the New Testament. So it'd be safe to say that Mary also practiced Christianity.

So, Jesus' step-dad was a racial/ethnic Jew. Jesus' mother's race/ethnicity is unknown, but extremely unlikely to be Jewish. And Jesus' religion was Christianity.

Why are you asking me these questions? This is all pretty basic stuff.

>Mary of Nazareth, daughter of Joachim and Anna,[8] is first mentioned by name in the Gospel of Matthew.[9]

>St. Joachim was of the tribe of Judah, and a descendant of King David. St. Anna was the daughter of Matthan the priest, of the tribe of Levi
