I appreciate your reluctance to fully flesh this out in a poal comment, but if we could just be a little more specific...

The New Testament was written in Greek, and uses the Greek word(s) more closely transliterated as Judean as both a noun and adjective.

So I guess the question is, "WHAT IS A JEW?" Please explain! The English NT uses "Jew" almost exclusively when talking about Judeans. So is "Jew" a demonym?

Is it one and the same with descendants of Judah, or of his father Israel (Jacob)?

I think a lot of the confusion stems from the very definitions.
