factcheck also did a fact check on this and they, in a very shitty and round about way, confirmed this. They tried to say, "But...but...white families benefited from slavery in the South!"

That's because the white population were mostly Irish American and treated worse than slaves.

But they don't cry like bitches about it in every media outlet.

This also brings up the issue of 'white face'. Where light-skinned people pretend to be white, like in Hollywood and then (in white face) speak for or point to white people as responsible for slavery.
