They make up a bunch of their own sabbath rules and then try to get around them, the same way they do to the actual God given ones.

True story. Worked for a rabbi. He worked, drove, and performed other duties on Sundays. Also, as part of the ‘unwritten’ job duties, I was to have lunch with him every day. (He had no “friends” and since I did not defer to him as a congregant would, he appreciated my candor at these “lunch meetings”.) Once, while having lunch, he ordered shrimp. A congregant walks in for lunch, and he quickly switches our plates lol. Also, had a shrimp buffet at his daughter’s wedding. Oy vey what a hypocrite. 14 years after leaving that job, he still sends me a Harry and David package each Christmas.

Elevators were programmed to stop on every floor on the sabbath in some buildings in NYC back when I used to live in NJ, because they can't even push a button? My Jewish friend had a setting on her oven that would automatically turn it on so they could have hot meals. I would think going around the spirit of the thing is cheating, but what do in know.
