I did some quick ancestry work and it does appear one family had one house slave. I think after the large jooish plantations of the south were dismantled, a lot of onesies and twosomes were taken in by the good Christian families, giving shelter, sustenance and job. Therefore a lot of numbers post-antebellum will be skewed to look like a lot of white people had slaves. I’m sure Sheniqua will never consider good intentions because white people care.

Adding that all of these jewish plantation owners were lobbyist democrats and vehemently opposed to the abolition of slavery. It’s the White republicans who actually did vote for it.
