Imagine how Europeans would react to the Talmud way back then, in comparison to 1940s. If Christianity was purely the tool/ cultural weapon that some people claim it is, then it's the last thing they would want to get rid of, they'd promote it constantly and shame everyone who tries to attack it. I don't see how them using every opportunity to destroy or pervert Christianity is indicative of it being their project. There is rarely any kind of cultural impact from Christianity, in the mainstream avenues, whereas all sorts of paganism, whether inspired fiction or historically based, is promoted & encouraged.
