Ba'al is the Hebrew word for "master." That doesn't mean there is any connection with the god Baal. People named "Michael" don't necessarily worship the archangel Michael. Jesus is called "Lord" but that doesn't mean he sits in the upper chamber of the English Parliament.

it's the phonecian word, which the hebrews adopted. they eventually turned against baal and decreed that none should ever use his name.

"At first the name Baal was used by the Jews for their God without discrimination, but as the" struggle between the two religions developed, the name Baal was given up by the Israelites as a thing of shame, and even names like Jerubbaal were changed to Jerubbosheth: Hebrew bosheth means "shame".63"

To suddenly start using the title again after thousands of years is odd, when they have so many other words to choose from. A more suitable comparison would be the bishop of a christian sect suddenly calling himself Demon Wielder because our word demon actually comes from greek and means divine inspiration. So whilst the word is 'suitable' no bishop would call himself that, because we now 'revile' demons just as Jews are supposed to revile Baal.

Well done. Few seem to realize a lot of names/titles they associate with specific people aren't individuals. Most probably wouldn't comprehend how many people were called God, Satan, Lucifer, Christ, Ceasar, Ba'al and many more titles.
