I read an article this evening about the history of the building and it's history of needing extensive repairs over a series of many years. The residents of the building fought over where they should spend the money and many also fought and opposed the suggested methods for raising the money. In short, the residents of the building, who all owned their units, fought over money until their building literally fell down around them.
It's seems almost like an ominous portent.

It's not "jews" any more than it's "humans" in general.
Human nature is selfish and controlling. We also put off solving problems in our lives until they can no longer be ignored. In the case of a 40 story building putting off structural issues is a disaster waiting to happen.
