I remember hearing a documentary/long radio story about 10 years ago about how they had very small tactical ones. Could create a super hot radioactive zone surrounding the country that would even penetrate invading tanks. The few soldiers that deployed them would be dead too, but glad to make the sacrifice. Jews in Israeli cities have basements below basements, with plenty of food/water/high tech air filtration.
