As if we needed to be useful to "society" for our lives to have value. And as if people weren't at their MOST productive in their later years, as they have gained more experience and knowledge over the course of their lifetime. And overpopulation is a fucking myth, and it pisses me off that so many people believe that we're overpopulated when the Earth can and does support more and more people ever year. Our technology becomes more efficient, our resource usage becomes more efficient, our cultures gradually change to accommodate a rising population density, etc. Everything about these statements is just completely backwards, anti-science garbage.
