Japanese love the concept of designer babies, although they aren't having babies at all it seems. I don't trust the tengu, and neither should you. My pitch is that this ban is going to exist, just for it to be overturned, at first being restricted, but before long they'll be at the forefront of genome engineering, and it won't be pretty.
