From the post:

>A Japanese 'flying car' has taken to the skies for a demo flight as the impressive technology is tested out over the country's capital. The vehicle has been developed by SkyDrive, a company that develops and manufactures eVTOL (electrical vertical take off and landing). SkyDrive's SD-05 flew over Tokyo Bay on February 24, bringing the sci-fi like vehicle into reality for onlookers. It managed to stay in the air for around three minutes and 30 seconds, and flew as high as 150 metres.

A helocopter by any other name...

It’s a helicopter. Nothing more.

All they’re planning to do is offer a helicopter taxi service. They will only be able to take you to designated landing pads that they setup and pay for because you can’t land a helicopter anywhere you want. It’s an expensive taxi service with limited destinations.

It will be faster than other options for getting in and out of the city during rush hour, but that’s about it. If you’re a CEO you can get a landing pad on the roof of your office building, but they can probably already do that with existing helicopter services.
