From the post:

>Japan’s transport ministry will limit the number of power banks allowed on flights and effectively ban their onboard use starting in mid-April, a move prompted by a recent series of alarming incidents. The ministry began accepting public comment on the proposed revision to its Civil Aeronautics regulations on Feb. 27. The decision anticipates new international rules expected as early as March from the International Civil Aviation Organization, a specialized United Nations agency.

If this is what (((they))) allow us to know about, imagine the shit they are keeping secret.

Look at it like this.

If I have thought about how to do this (which I did well over a decade ago) then a nation-state already built it. Think about things like this through that lens. Now, you can go overboard but anything that seems remotely possible probably is and is already built by -someone- even if it's not me.

I know virtually fuck all in this field, but I can imagine using power meters to surreptitiously house a modem that intelligently monitors different loads over the power grid going through that meter, and also being able to identify what each part of the electricity is being used on, and if a computer, it can determine what the computer is processing by measuring the slight variances in power usage in the processor and reporting that as basically allowing someone to see what is on the screen of a computer monitor or running a program that is being run on a computer and recording all of that on a monitoring computer somewhere.

Not enough? OK, because they can identify each piece of equipment they can directly control the power going to any device and do things from completely deny it power to completely overloading it when it is plugged in.

These are just the thoughts I can come up with while knowing basically fuck on on the subject, there must be someone out there who knows what they're doing and is paid to come up with ideas that make mine look like paraplegic retards on a playground.

In the older days you cold read the ground wire of a house and figure out what a keyboard attached to a computer was typing.

No. I am not kidding. (https://www.usenix.org/legacy/event/sec09/tech/full_papers/vuagnoux.pdf) This was specific to PS/2 keyboards (pre USB) at the time. Though, I imagine if you had a HAM system connected to the same power/ground source as your PC/keyboard you maybe could have pulled it right out of the air.

Maybe it's time for me to make a new sub "Are you paranoid yet"? or something like that....

Oh, the screen reading thing happened too. It was called Project Tempest and could re-create what was on a CRT (computer or TV) from a distance by picking up the emissions. (This was done in 1985, for ref).

The longer you talk with me, the more freaked out you are going to get. It's kind of a thing o.0
