Diversity, inclusion, and equality wouldn't even be relevant if the hiring is based on merit.

On a purely merit based hiring system, there is no need to even disclose those attributes to a prospective employer. The fact that DIE is even a thing that people discuss is proof of [biased] discriminatory hiring practices.
