I thought you had to be a citizen to be serve.. why would we trust foreigners in our ranks?
When I was in the Marines, back in the 70s, I met a few foreigners in the ranks. Serving in the military was a way to gain citizenship. You know, the French army has an entire legion made up of foreigners...
As far as I know this is still the case. But I am sure you have to fill out some paperwork, then they rubber stamps it due to military service.
I was always under the impression if you give 4 years to the military you get citizenship.
Mind you it’s easy when we aren’t in like wars for 4 years.
As for this murderous cunt, fuck him.
Interesting.. it seems appropriate that a nation would grant citizenship to someone who served in a time when extra manpower is needed.
I don't believe the US has needed extra manpower since maybe the late 1700s.
When I was out processing after 4 years I had to attend classes(how to become a civilian, complete waste of time).
My table partner was a Mexican national, did 4 years and couldn’t read or write English. I know it’s a path to citizenship but at least try to assimilate.
