DDG never at any point in their history was a private anything. They have been tied to Google and were filtering results from the beginning. If you want unfiltered results use https://www.gigablast.com/ Or https://private.sh/ They aren't the best looking search engines, but they are private and do not filter results I did a comparison of search results here https://poal.co/s/Internet/435026
