I looked into it and didn't think it was kiked, but unfortunately it's not very good. At the time they were limiting results to just a page or two for each search and saying that should be enough for anyone.

that's a sign of them being cheap and not spending to have more bandwidth, I get why sites like this one will only show a page of search results cuz spamming search can be used to slow down a site. But brave should have a robust search engine.

I agree. Well it could be that or a few other things but it ultimately comes down to not being a good replacement even if their heart is in the right place.

yeah really they are a browser which I give them credit for on being better than ones such as firefox or safari or whatever. So they don't have a good search engine, that is secondary I guess.

It was better. It used to mirror DDG exactly but then it deviated, which is likely a step in the right direction. But it also means it isn't as good. It would be nice to have a user script that puts DDG results under the brave ones (if they are unique) so your results are Brave unless they suck and you can just scroll down.

DDG results have always been Google results. They have never been uncensored, just privacy protected. I made the example elsewhere of wanting better news than CNN, but then picking a news source that just posts stories from CNN in a different order. That's basically what DDG does just with Google.
