I agree with this 100%. Although it is hard to fault companies for making the change if barely anyone is using the forums. I used to play on an Ultima Online player ran shard. The forums were great, from trash talking, role playing, trading, and general shard information. The forum even had a chat box, where you could go back and forth with people in real time. Then a Discord room was setup. The forums were dead within a month. I think Discord was perfect for guilds, especially with the voice chat options, but it really sucked compared to the forums for everything else.
