So what do proper tech people think about this as an alternative to big tech hosting? It has its drawbacks, and I still think going to the darkweb is the way forward, but this could work for the near future...
Interesting. BitTorrent launched Project Maelstrom (bittorrent.com) in 2014 with the same concept. They abandoned it, though.

ive never heard of zeronet - yeah looks like it is, but its not on the blockchain... am i reading that right? zeronet works that way?
zeronet is based on p2p downloads and TOR i think. it runs in the background and is accessed by a normal browser via urls with 127.0.0.1:4444/xxxx
not sure if zeronet uses blockchain, maybe for the addresses?`
im just reading about this - i was gonna say why arent we all on zeronet? this looks awesome... but it looks like you have to do a bunch of bullshit just to install it
