You don't say! How could you possibly cool a city by replacing hundreds of tons of cement and asphalt with trees, water features and plants? Next thing they will figure out is that large forested areas "attract" more rain!

From the post: "If you're lucky enough to live near forested areas, you'll know that one of the best ways to escape the mid-day heat while out rambling is to head for tree cover. Living in a concrete jungle might present fewer options than being out in the sticks, but even a visit to a local park or botanical garden could help you keep your cool.

In fact, research led by the University of Surrey in the UK has found that botanical gardens can lower the temperature of inner city air by as much as 5 °C. Wetlands and rain gardens are not far behind in the cooling stakes, at 4.7 and 4.5 °C respectively, trees planted along streets also lowered air temps by 3.8 °C while city parks managed 3.2 °C."

Alternatively, there is an Urban Heat Island effect of 5C (closer to 7C, IIRC) Th day is currently incorporated into the temperature record. This anomaly is spread around through "homogenisation" of the data sets.

Yep. All of this "Warming" is basically a scam. They are taking measurements from the center of large cities that are built out of glass and concrete that are basically convection ovens then trying to claim that a farm in the middle of nowhere now has +5C higher temp because of "normalizing" the data.

All large cities were a mistake and have been for all of human civilization. So has been consolidating the supply chain and production of food. We need to return back to "the country". Get rid of these ideas of 2 million+++ human cities. They are the threat to the world.. Not the farmers and ranchers out in the country that allow them to exist. No matter how much the city people hate them for it.

What? A bunch of leaves absorbing the sunlight before it can hit the ground and also casting shadows is cooler than direct sunlight hitting the ground and warming it all up? The hell you say.

This article is as annoying as when (I assume they still do this) there is nothing to report on during the summer so the news programs run a story on the "heat" and then they interview a bunch of stupid people and ask them what they're doing to stay cool, and they laugh at the unfunny things that they themselves said.

Oh, look it's hot today. Its hotter than 'other days' you remember. Its because of 'global scam name here' we have been saying it for over 100 years but we are totally right this time.
