Had to be some type of liquid or chemical in that scrap which caused it. Interested in that.
*Just noticed it says "wet" in the title. Reading fail.
Water will do that, pour water into a ~2000C furnace and it will boil almost instantly creating an explosion, significantly worse than throwing water on an oil fire.
Kind of like how you need to be careful of what type of rocks you line your fire pit with. If those rocks have water trapped inside of them; you're going to have a bad time.
For extra fun you can throw your own hot rock walking party!
Dear negroes, Never try to smelt metal. You have been warned.
Or do and tape it.
I was amazed when he drove away.
And went back for more!
That must be a heck of a thick windshield on that forklift!
Super lucky
I hear that the lumber industry has whole warehouses dedicated to Drying out the wood for months so that when it is cut, it doesn't bend as it drys. Which is why the industry has very slow reaction times to changes in demand.
It's crazy to me that this metal industry doesn't just have a default warehouse heated to a certain temp to do the same thing if this is the kind of thing that can go wrong to their own employees.
The lumber industry does that because it affects the quality of their product and, therefore, their profit.
This only affects the workers who are expendable.
