Let me guess -- the whole thing was build by two Malaysian guys with pointy sticks.

Have you guys seen Neuschwanstein Castle?

Fuck our ancestors were amazing.

As a bricklayer, stone mason and now a budding blacksmith who over a lifetime dabbled in re-enactments from the French and Indian Wars to Rev War to Lewis and Clark and Mountain Man era to the Mexican War to the Civil War and on into the Cowboy era I’d of given anything to be involved in a project such as this. I love the old ways, learning the old ways, the work, the skill, the joy of working with earth, steel, fire, wood, water and wind. In doing so I’ve come to the conclusion we are definitely dumber than our ancestors in a great many number of ways. Not to say we haven’t done some amazing shit since. I just like and enjoy the old ways so much more. It seems more engaging, both physically and mentally. Nothing beats creating things with your hands. God put me here at this time for a reason I guess, I just can’t figure out why.

Cool post, enjoyed it very much!

The french are normally faguette but every once in a while they do something cool.

I've met a handful of French in my life and can say that they were surprisingly based.

To be fair you're probably right. 9/10 times i'm referring to the government of France, they routinely fuck over the average Frenchmen.

You can say that for every current government.

That's a really amazing project, Experimental archaeology is really important, working out the practicalities of actually building something rather than just have a theory of how something was done

I think this was the original BBC series https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7uAFoYti7yY&list=PLcvEcrsF_9zITttHP6BRg2RLAlgNJlCHP
