Yeah, I remember. But a lot of families never did accept the injectable Salk vaccine. Many people avoided needles in those days. We waited until Dr. Sabin came out with his single-dose oral vaccine which was a drop of liquid on a sugar cube, rather than the series of two shots required by Dr. Salk. I did also get a smallpox vaccination at a very early age (but that was a skin scratch not a shot).
