I totally understand why this exists: because it can and it's very cool. I'm guilty of nostalgia and creating a totally unnecessary technology because I can. I like piano rolls and ended up with over a 100 rolls of various formats. I ended up writing code to literally play them back, in real time... with a mobile phone.
