He's not a complete idiot, but seems to be prone to utopian thinking sometimes. He can see that something isn't right, but he hasn't figured it out yet as he's stuck in the belief that everyone is the same, regardless of race. If he ever figures out that genetics -> society a few more pieces might fall into place.

I think he's starting to figure it out a bit though. Some years ago, he was pretty much a communist, now he's slowly coming to his senses and seeing that it's not at all as simple as he had once thought.
