I feel like this is just taking something out of historical context and misperceiving how it would work it the modern world. Cotton has gotten so cheap and plentiful that no one would pay $1 million for a Dhaka muslin dress just based on the materials. In general, I think material quality has gone down across the board. Cheap t-shirts from 40 years ago seem to have higher quality cotton in them than expensive designer ones do today. It's not that the capability went away, but it has become another victim of the endless crapification caused by incessant profit seeking.

I wouldn't have a use for a light and transparent fabric. However, I really want a pair of stainless steel jeans (hypebeast.com). If I could get a full canadian tuxedo of it, I'd rock it ever day.

I read the whole article. All was well until the (((East India Company))) showed up. Every fucking time.

It's amazing how often every.fucking.time comes around, right? It's like a universal constant or something.

I think southeast Asian countries would benefit from this
