The average person sees no value in it and has no real interest. They just see something that costs more that they don't understand.

From the post:

>Intel has tried to position itself at the forefront of the AI PC revolution, but based on the company's latest financial report, it looks like that revolution isn't happening yet. Despite offering dozens of AI-enabled PCs packing a Meteor Lake, Lunar Lake, or even more recently, Arrow Lake, CPU, Intel says that its older generations are seeing "much greater demand," as reported by Tom's Hardware.

We were afraid of computers turning evil, turning against us, trying to kill us, eliminate us, or to begin believing they are also human, but we never thought that their biggest problem would be the hallucinations on a constant acid trip.

The one thing we all took for granted was the exactness of ones and zeroes. Go figure they now exhibit bi-polar disorder with pathological tendencies.

I have one from AMD. I don't use it for anything AI related because literally NOTHING uses the stupid NPU. Everything still wants to go out to the cloud instead of churning in the literal AI chip in my computer. It's infuriating.

It's a great laptop otherwise, but I might as well disable the NPU to save a few watts.

or cut the wifi would do the same thing when not using a web browser.

Unless you are a scientist or doing deep fake porn I can't think of a thing without programming it yourself if you have that knowledge wft you could use one for. It's also now for real the 1st gen so they'll all suck ballz till like gen 4 or later and unless you work for a company with an AI dev there is nothing you can use and likely programs will cost a ton that use AI since like windows 32bit everyone will want to become rich/millionaire on their new program game or whatever they create and open source will fall behind since nobody wants to pay for something that is not proven even.

Microsoft teased that could run copilot locally (which I think you can but only on Arm) and there was some stuff iI wanted to try out in LM Studio. I mainly use it help brainstorm writing and to help with power shell scripting.

arm like a fast pentium in the 90's with no power. Arm is an enlightenment DE's wet dream.

I overbought a new PC with an i9 recently. Now I wish I had just bought an AMD or even an i7. Essentially, the i9 is slower for me in spite of having 20 cores.

Yeah, just say no to the fake/gay ai fad.
