EDIT: Thanks to points made in the sticky post, I've moved this post to a new, alternate sub for info sheets that contain subjective, opinion-based information. /s/InfoSheetsOpinioned

The information in the image is useful in concept, but opinions and assumptions contained in it make it impractical and unrealistic for direct implementation.

Solar is nonsense for the majority of the US and Europe. A vegetarian diet will make you and ypur family week.

Indeed, a vegetarian diet would make a family weak. The noting of that diet in the start of that one sentence has no purpose for being included as it is not the basis for the information in the sheet which outlines raising animals for the consumption of meat, eggs and dairy.

Solar power as a source of energy is not nonsense for "the majority" of areas in the US. I cannot comment on if that could be true for Europe as I don't have firsthand experience living in many places of Europe. Solar for a single family living rural and away from modernity is feasible; solar as the basis for an entire nation's infrastructure is not.

It is only nonsense if implementing it and relying on it as the sole source for energy is also not coupled with the changes to the family's way of living. It is nonsense if the family cannot exist without charging up multiple "smart" phones every day, running multiple "smart" TVs even if no one is in the room watching them, running multiple computers that are left on for entire days while being used only at rare points through the day, insists on an over-sized refrigerator with a family that stands there with the door open deciding on what to eat and leaves it open while they make a sandwich, etc.

The wasteful lifestyle of modern families is not compatible with solar power as a lone source for energy at any scale. This info is not for "modern" lifestyles; it is for existing away and apart from those who live "modern" lifestyles.

The feasibility of solar power is not in the lack of sunlight or land to utilize, it is in the cost of its acquisition and installation, its maintenance, and the inevitable replacing of damaged and degraded parts for which backups and know-how would required without reliance on another to perform.

I would instead recommend wind (depending on location) or a combination of wind and solar for energy for a family living a self-sufficient existence.
