Another interesting stat:

49% of speeding drivers involved in fatal crashes in 2017 were not wearing seat belts.

Hmm... So that means that 51% of the fatalities were wearing seat belts. Wouldn't that mean you are more likely to die if you are wearing a seat belt and less likely if you are not?

Maybe the seatbelts invite more risky driving? Tough one to call.

I'd wager this is the case. Pair that along with the knowledge that 87% of speed-related accidents are NOT interstate and that the majority of accidents happen within a mile of one's home. We get more complacent the more seemingly safe we think we are.

Interesting stats. More interesting to me is that the sites listed as the sources for the stats and the included "policy advice" links are primarily all mattress store and sleep-related websites.

fuckin' kek! I wonder if they made a sleep statistics one and didn't bother

Found the site the image is from.

This site that has a lot of different infographics and it links to this image:

And they got it from the "PolicyAdvice" website noted at the bottom in the image:

So they actually do attribute their information to being from a bunch of mattress, furniture and sleep-related websites...wow.

lmao

I was searching for driving/mileage stats and the info does come from some unpretty FHWA info https://www.fhwa.dot.gov/ohim/onh00/bar8.htm

That's a good point. Maybe they're the sources from another image. I'll do some image searches of this one and for sleep stats to see if maybe this is an old version before sources were corrected, or if the sources on a sleep stats image has the driving sources.
