The public school system has been in decline for decades. As much as I fucking hate this I think all jobs now need to have competency tests. If you can't pass it, you don't get hired. I know several people that never even passed highschool and they are very successful. I also know people with master's degrees that can't find work and have had to "re-skill" more than once.
