I flew out to see my mom a few years ago and got to the Phoenix Sky Harbor airport stupid early. I was pretty much one of 10 people not hired there in the whole place. At security I watched a guy who spoke not a word of English get escorted through security not having to do anything I was doing. The TSA guy I was with asked another if he could cover while he took his break. He walked me to my gate and told me about it since he saw my disbelieving face. They had a separate line, one he refused to work and had gotten in trouble for in the past, for 'undocumented passengers'. He thought it was bullshit. He says they have some scrap of paper from some random charity that they can use to get through security and get tickets without ID. He thought it was insane but only had 2 years to retirement and was just hanging out until then. He said buses of them would come through sometimes and it seemed to primarily be the early flights since they weren't usually as fully booked.
