Half a dozen other folks as well. They are half nog half Spanish locals. I was REALLY nice and polite to everyone. Bought a Leatherman for a local boy with a broken bike. Gave a guy my jumper cables at a park to a guy trying to start his car. Shit like that. Little stuff. I drink rum with "Big Tony" down stairs lol. He is a cool guy. Said if anyone messes with me to let him know and he will make them go away lol. I have like 10 friends. Old women invite us over for dinner because they like my wife and kid. I met a local guy who has a sailing school. He was in the local coast guard and got a free boat after a hurricane. I helped him fix the motor and electronics on it. I had ZERO friends in the US for like a decade. It was horrible. Got invited to an English speaking Church by the maid. Half a dozen different millionaires from Europe go there. Great folks. I cook breakfast every other Saturday.

Not yet. My condo had 10" reinforced solid cement walls and roof. Heavy aluminum shutters. Floor drains. It's built to modern standards in 2005. Fucking indestructible. Was hit head on by maria with no damage. It cost me 150k. 3800sq feet with a rooftop deck as a second floor. Sometimes the water or power goes out lol.
If youa the serious first check out Puerto Rico 's act 60. You need to be paying like 50k a year in Cap Gains or 150k income from a web company or whatever or it's not worth it. Good on you for not giving your kids SSNs. Have you run into any issues? If there's no employment on the island, what will they do when they grow up? How will they get employment in the US? If they hold US passports, they would still have to pay taxes if working overseas, no? And to pay taxes you need a SSN.
