Not yet. My condo had 10" reinforced solid cement walls and roof. Heavy aluminum shutters. Floor drains. It's built to modern standards in 2005. Fucking indestructible. Was hit head on by maria with no damage. It cost me 150k. 3800sq feet with a rooftop deck as a second floor. Sometimes the water or power goes out lol.
If youa the serious first check out Puerto Rico 's act 60. You need to be paying like 50k a year in Cap Gains or 150k income from a web company or whatever or it's not worth it. Alternatively buy 2nd citizenship in St Kitts and live in the Dominican Republic. You gotta have someone who can speak some Spanish or you need some goddammed charisma. I had both. Try to find an English speaking Church. HUGELY helpful.

Good on you for not giving your kids SSNs. Have you run into any issues? If there's no employment on the island, what will they do when they grow up? How will they get employment in the US? If they hold US passports, they would still have to pay taxes if working overseas, no? And to pay taxes you need a SSN.
I'm not raising them to NEED employment. essentially I am going to pass sytems to them that negate the need for employment... If they can keep it. No issues of any kind. Flash a passport and no one cares. IDK about taxes but Ssan has nothing at all to do with taxes. Being a US citizen is the tax slavery. My goal is to stack enough wealth that they never ever need to generate wealth to live while I can, tax free. There are some tax exemptions overseas but really it doesn't matter if you already generated the wealth. The tax system exists to block smart upstarts from getting Rich in the first place. It does a bang-up job of that!
Next up is a couple citizenships from nothing burger nations in case of a draft or whatever. That is a major worry on my end.
