Europe has been overpopulated for a long time, we are one of the most densely populated regions on earth. We spent centuries shipping our excess populations off to colonies, then suddenly we need migrants to maintain our population, and we didn’t even bat an eye as we told our cousins in the Americas or the antipodes what TV man had just told us about our declining population.
