Dropping twenty grand to secure US Citizenship is an insanely stupid waste of money. That kind of cash could get a person some serious traction in a more vibrant and lively economy elsewhere. To say nothing of so many foreigners and Americans leaving the US leaves me to conclude that US citizenship isn't as valuable as the media wants us to think. Best guess, this is how spies overseas go about securing plausible identities for future agency operatives.

I'm reminded of all the middle easterner food stamp scams you hear about in ghettos. Basically they let you buy whatever alcohol, cigs, etc for twice the ebt cash. US citizenship is still valuable if you give no shits about the US.

Combine birth tourism with diversity initiative enabled university/college enrolment and corporate espionage and more interesting things than welfare fraud happens. For example, Turkey just took over Azerbaijan and part of Armenia solely by employing drone swarm tech despite the Armenians having the latest and greatest anti-air tech from Russia. Iran is currently mass producing air wings of F1 Phantoms and I've no illusions they'll drone enable those bad boys. As old as the F1 Phantom airframe is, it's a flying tank even by today's standards. Thanks in no small part because of the rampant evil of the baby boom generation, we and future generations will be living in intensely interesting times.
