i dont upvote cause i agree most of time is to hopes to spark more discussions where as it seems if someone see a downvote they less likey participate or comment

that's totally fine, it's your prerogative.

just like it's the prerogative of another to use upvote to mean "i agree" and downvote to mean "i disagree"
