To format consecutive lines
for poetry takes a long time.
In markdown, two spaces
puts things in their places.
A button would make things work fine.
In other words, there's been a lot of poetry on Poal lately. Commendable efforts by many talented people. But formatting it in markdown is a pain in the ass. You have to remember to put a double-space at the end of every line to avoid it turning into a garbled one-liner. Phone keyboards often change a double-space to a period. Copy-pasting a longer poem and going through to change every line is hell. We could fix all of this with a "poetry button" in the post/comment submission prompts, which would automatically add two spaces at the end of each line.
